«Borisov Arena» Football Stadium

International success brought football team BATE Borisov to the spotlight, but also caused concerns over where the club should play during European competition games. Decision was thus made to build a brand new arena. The construction of the new stadium in Borisov was launched on November 12, 2010.  Borisov Arena saw the official opening on May 3, 2014.

The stadium was designed by Slovenia’s Ofis arkitekti. Ljudski Stadium in Maribor was taken as a model. It is located south-west of Borisov, near the road to Minsk. Borisov – Arena is situated about 60 km from the national airport Minsk-2. It’s surrounded with pine forest and emerges from the ground like an amorphous blob. In reality the outer shell is fully symmetric, but irregular holes in the facade make an impression of undefined shape. Inside the single-tiered stands are equipped with uniquely-coloured seats and accessible from a promenade surrounding the whole stadium. Four gates  lead to the promenade, each located in one corner. Player and VIP access is located near the main grandstand. . Borisov Arena is a football stadium with a seating capacity of more than 13,000. The facility corresponds to the UEFA 4 Category Stadiums and is able to host any European competitions, including the Champions League and the Europe League. At the same time the stadium  serves social purposes as well. Here you can find a gym, a press centre and etc. Borisov Arena is the unique monument of modern architecture. It is also on the list of the most attractive football stadiums in the world. Borisov Arena is one of the main Borisov's places of interest
