BelGee is a Belarus/Chinese joint-venture car manufacturer. BelGee was established in 2011 to produce Geely models in Belarus. The production started in 2012. The company made more than 10.000 Geely cars a year with the semi knock-down (SKD) assembly method. The cars were sold in Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan. In 2015 the construction works of the new Geely plant in Belarus were started. The new BelGee plant was opened on November17; 2017. President Alexander Lukashenko took part in the opening ceremony. The plant is located between two cities Borisov and Zhodino and occupies an area of 118 hectares, which includes assembly, painting and welding shops.  The company assembles Geely designed cars in a new factory from a knock-down kit, starting with production of 25,000 cars in 2018. More than 60.000 automobiles will be manufactured annually by 2020. In 2017, the factory employed 760 staff.
